Origins and History of the Fez - ROBERT SEPEHR

Although named after a city in Morocco, where they were mass produced during the Christian era, the Fez hat predates Christianity. The fez, or tarboosh, is a felt headdress first introduced into Europe and the West by the Cretans and has been worn by various Abrahamic priesthoods for millennia, as well as newly emancipated slaves since the time of Ancient Rome. Also called the The red liberty cap, it was was an integral part of American culture and symbology in the 19th century and is seen in many places in the United States Capitol.

Saturn and the Black Sun - ROBERT SEPEHR

The Roman statesman and philosopher Marcus Cicero called Saturn, Phainon, a word meaning “shining”. Saturn is where we get our name for Saturday, and  Saturnalia was probably the most popular festivals of the Roman calendar.

The planet Jupiter has been known since ancient times. It's visible to the naked eye in the night sky, and can occasionally be seen in the daytime when the Sun is low. In Germanic mythology, Jupiter is equated to Thor, where we get the name for Thursday. Zeus is the sky and thunder god in ancient Greek religion, and Jupiter was known as Amon to the Egyptians.

Sufi Dancing and Islamic Mysticism - ROBERT SEPEHR

Tanoura means skirt, and the Tanoura dance, is a kind of Sufi folkloric dance very common in Islamic countries, especially in Turkey and in Egypt. Known to the West as Twirling Dervishes, the Mevlevi Order was found in the 13th century. The term “Dervish” literally means “doorway”. The whirling is magnificent to watch, as the performers enter a hyper-conscious state, their eyes closed, yet always maintaining perfect physical balance. Similar techniques are used in some religious rituals in Columbia.
